LG Energy Solution announced on its Q2 2025 profit call That it would increase its annual production capacity in his battery installation in Holland, Michigan because of the market demand.

Lges opened earlier this summer Michigan LFP battery cell/module production site and was expected to expect a capacity of 16 GWH in the factory that was previously ready to make batteries for electric vehicles. The company said on the profit call that it will now reach 17 GWH by the end of the year and then 30 GWH towards the end of the year 2026.

The company expects a delay in the EV question, but the increased demand in the ESS market. With energy storage systems that still receive the investment tax credit (ITC) in the United States, there will be more options for non-Chinese battery suppliers on the market.

“The company expects recent policy changes to strengthen the barriers to forbidden foreign entities that enter the American battery market, which strengthens the benefit for battery companies that have already secured the local production options and stable operational competencies,” Lges said in the win.
